Don’t you just love having a fully stocked and mostly organized pantry?? I certainly do, and although my cupboards aren’t always completely stocked, because I like to use what I have if I can, I still try to keep some basics always on hand.
This summer, I also really would like to utilize my local markets for fresh produce now that my work schedule allows it.
Of course, being vegetarian I always try to have a variety of beans and legumes on hand. Canned requires less planning, but dried is much easier to buy in bulk, as well as cheaper in the long run and isn’t loaded with sodium.
For my list below; I will try and break it down into sections for easier reading.
Unbleached AP Flour
Whole Wheat Flour
Steel Cut Oats
Vegan Butter (I really like Earth Balance)
Brown or Wild Rice
Various Pasta Shapes
Canned Tomatoes (I buy the jar with just Tomatoes and Salt)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Apple Cider Vinegar
Salsa and Corn Chips
Frozen Fruit – I like to freeze seasonally if possible
So there you have it. The produce section is pretty rough – I will buy other fruit/veg more seasonally or on special occasion as it can get pricey, but this is most of the things I like to always have on hand.
If you’d like a more in depth post with what I use some of the ingredients for, just ask me know in the comments below.
